We believe that kids are never too young to start learning good money management skills. We offer financial literacy presentations from kindergarten to grade 12.

We try to adjust the presentation time to meet the time blocks set by each teacher. However, our presentation times typically vary depending on the grade level: K-6 is 30-45 minutes, 7-9 is 45-60 minutes and 10-12 is 60-90 minutes.

There is no cost to the school for these presentations. If you are interested in booking a presentation, click here.

No. Our objective at Money Mentors is to provide financial literacy education to youth. We encourage teachers to book as many (or as few) presentations as needed.

Most of our school presentations involve group interaction, are activity based and provide the opportunity to ask and answer questions. Because of this, we ask teachers to limit the number of students per presentation to 40. This will provide the optimal learning experience for the students and allow the presenter to engage participants. In the event that this is not possible, we will try to work with the teachers on a case by case basis.

Yes. AV equipment, a computer, and internet MUST be provided by the school or community group.

Yes. You will need to photocopy provided handouts for your students. Additionally, students are asked to use their own pencil, crayons and/or markers. Depending on the presentation, students may also be invited to use a device connected to the Internet (e.g., a cell phone, a Chromebook, or a laptop). Additional information is provided during the booking process.

Money Mentors hires and trains youth presenters who are currently enrolled in post-secondary education to deliver the presentations.

We provide financial literacy presentations to schools throughout Alberta. Our major city locations include: Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Grand Prairie and Medicine Hat. We also offer virtual presentations in bedroom communities surrounding these areas.

All of our school’s presentations are held in the classrooms of the schools we visit. We obtain the necessary information needed during the booking process and send out a youth presenter to the school on the date and time of the presentation(s). We also offer virtual presentations!

We develop our financial literacy school’s presentations to align with Alberta curriculum for each grade level. Our curriculum tie ins include concepts and learning objectives from many courses.
