Financial Literacy Month

Financial Literacy is having the skills to balance spending, saving, credit and debt successfully by having the confidence to make smart decisions with your money on a day-to-day basis. It also means knowing how money works and how to make it work for you instead of against you.

As a not-for-profit credit counselling organization, Money Mentors sees first-hand the stress that financial issues can have on households and families. With an increased focus on financial education, we are excited to offer programming for Albertans of all ages to improve their money management skills and decrease financial stress so they can get on to a better path to a brighter future.

Financial Literacy Month

November is Financial Literacy Month in Canada and you could say we’re excited. Not only do we get to strengthen the financial literacy of Albertans and empower everyone to live their best financial life, but we get to do it all month long!

In partnership with the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC), Money Mentors is proud to provide free resources and events throughout Alberta.

In conjunction with FCAC’s theme this year, “Invest in Your Financial Well-Being,” we’re highlighting the importance of the financial well-being of seniors. From our Financial Fitness Classes to presentations at various organizations throughout the province, we aim to provide awareness of potential frauds and scams and offer ways to protect yourself.
