Buying a home is the biggest investment most Canadians will make with their money. This process can be exciting, challenging and emotional, particularly with the purchase of your first home. This introductory course on buying your first home will provide you with insight on various aspects of being a home owner. In this course we look at both the initial and carrying costs to consider when owning a home. We discuss common terms used in home ownership, as well as how the home buyers’ plan works. For those saving for a down payment, we look at ways to save faster and how to improve your credit score before buying. We also discuss the dos and don’ts of buying a home, and what to consider when choosing a mortgage broker.
