A FRESH Start This Fall: SMART Goals for Your Business

The weather is starting to get colder and frost shows up on our windows in the morning. It’s as though the turn of the season marks a “new year” feeling, likely a remanent from our days in grade school.

This new year’s feeling allows us to level set from the summer into fall and winter. It’s an opportunity for you to look at your financials. How are your business revenues year-to-date? And your expenses? It’s also an opportunity with only three months left in the year, to decide how you will end 2025 on a strong foot. Can you increase your sales between now and the holidays? Can you offer your customers a pre-holiday sale to boost activities?

Consider setting a SMART goal for the remainder of the year. SMART is an acronym for specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time bound. Let’s take the example of increasing revenue by $5000 by year-end. A SMART goal could look like: I would like to increase my revenue by $5000 by December 31, 2025. More specifically, I will increase my revenue by at least $2000/month by creating a year-end sale.
