Who We  Are:

Money Mentors is a non-profit credit counselling agency based in Alberta that has supported Albertans since 1997. We provide education, counselling, and tailored debt solutions, offering the Orderly Payment of Debts program. We help clients consolidate and repay debt, navigate financial challenges, and move toward lasting financial stability.

Job Overview:

This unique role combines aspects of Digital Marketing, Business Development and Financial Literacy Education with significant overlap; it focuses on expanding our reach through social media along with traditional business development techniques. Time in each area to be determined by the Director.

What You’ll Do – Marketing Role

Campaign Coordination & Execution:

  • Support and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns (email, social, web)
  • Track performance and help improve campaigns based on data
  • Coordinate timelines, assets, and stakeholders to ensure projects launch on time

Content Creation & Storytelling:

  • Create content for emails, social media, and blogs
  • Design marketing/educational materials (infographics, handouts, PowerPoint templates, and videos)
  • Edit videos for social media with branding and transitions – skills in this area are very important

Social Media:

  • Oversee day-to-day scheduling, publishing, and monitoring of social media channels
  • Monitor trends and recommend new ideas to grow our presence

What You’ll Do – Education Role

Business Development:
Identify and build relationships with key stakeholders, including employers, creditors, community organizations, professional associations, unions and self-employed individuals; to promote financial education services, present Money Mentors’ services to potential clients, tailoring programs to meet their individual needs. Actively promote non-profit credit counselling and the Orderly Payment of Debts (OPD) program


Partnerships & Collaboration:

  • Support Education initiatives
  • Engage in community outreach and participate in relevant events, forums, and industry groups to raise awareness about Money Mentors
  • Identify and build relationships with various community stakeholders (Employers, Organizations, Associations, etc.)to provide financial literacy programming

Financial Education:

  • Deliver engaging financial literacy workshops and webinars on various money management topics
  • May occasionally appear on TV, or radio, attend conferences, trade fairs, and write articles
  • Create and adapt educational content for various formats (in-person, online, and print)
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of personal finance trends, tools, and strategies
  • Achieve KPIs as determined on an annual basis

What You’ll Do – Combined Responsibilities

Resource Development:
Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and relevance of content

Ensure resources are updated regularly to reflect the latest financial trends and regulations

Brand Stewardship:
Ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and visual identity across all channels

Administrative:
Manage administrative tasks/duties as assigned


What You Bring:

  • 2 years of experience, business development, training or financial services
  • 2 years of marketing or communications experience, with exposure to campaign execution, content creation, graphic design, digital tools
  • Proficient in marketing platforms including Email/CRM tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Eventbrite)
  • Strong writing, editing, communication and public presentation skills
  • Proficient in design tools
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
  • Knowledge of personal finance topics
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet targets and deadlines
  • Comfortable using Excel, PowerPoint and Word

How Success Is Measured:

  • Growth in engagement and reach across social media channels
  • Improved marketing campaigns (conversions/engagement)
  • Successful execution of engaging financial literacy webinars
  • Development of new partnerships that expand program reach

Requirements of the Role:

  • Must have a reliable vehicle with a Class 5 license
  • Work-from-Home, periodic travel within Calgary and surrounding area, with occasional trips to Edmonton
  • Some evenings/Saturdays may be required
  • Successfully complete Certified Educator in Personal Finance (CEPF) course within 12 months of start date

Salary: $70,000/year (depending on experience and qualifications) plus benefits, vacation and RRSP Matching

Hours and Location: Full-time, flexible hours, some evenings / Saturdays may be required
