Reports to: Director of Financial Education

Money Mentors is a non-profit credit counselling agency based in Alberta that has supported Albertans since 1997. We provide education, counselling, and tailored debt solutions, offering the Orderly Payment of Debts program. We help clients consolidate and repay debt, navigate financial challenges, and move toward lasting financial stability.

Job Overview: Money Mentors is looking for an experienced, creative, and detail-oriented eLearning specialist to design and deliver engaging online learning experiences that make financial education accessible to Albertans. This role supports the administration of our Learning Management System (LMS), developing interactive digital courses, designing curriculum, course content, creating resources, delivering webinars and in-person workshops. The ideal candidate combines technical eLearning skills with curriculum design, content creation expertise and strong public speaking skills. Some financial knowledge is an asset. Some evening and weekend work may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Design (digital & traditional)
    • Create storyboards, scripts, and prototypes for e-learning modules.
    • Design and develop engaging and interactive eLearning courses using Articulate Storyline and Canva
    • Create PowerPoint presentations, handouts, and other educational resource material for financial literacy programs.
  • Learning Management System Administration
    • Work as part of the Education team to assist in developing our digital strategy for adult financial education
    • Administer the implementation and day-to-day workflow of the organization’s Learning Management System (LMS)
    • Maintain and update existing content and resources on an ongoing basis
    • Develop content and materials aligned with adult learning principles and financial education outcomes
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure high-quality, accessible learning experiences
    • Track and analyze learner engagement and program outcomes adjusting as needed
  • Facilitation
    • Facilitate live webinars and in-person workshops for adult learners
    • Demonstrate passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and creating engaging content

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferably in Instructional Design, Education, or related field, equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Experience: minimum 2 years of experience in eLearning design
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong comprehension of LMS technology and administration
    • Proficiency in Articulate Storyline, Canva, PowerPoint, and online course development tools.
    • Strong adult education, facilitation, and communication skills
    • Experience in adult education and/or financial literacy programs is a plus
    • Experience in financial services is an advantage
    • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment within tight timelines
    • Strong collaboration, communication, and project management skills
    • Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and creating engaging content
    • Other duties as assigned.ca

Requirements of the Role

  • Must have a reliable vehicle with a Class 5 license
  • Occasional travel within and outside of city limits to deliver in-person workshops
  • Some weekend work and evenings may be required
