We are now recruiting for a part-time/casual Youth Educator position based in Medicine Hat to join our Financial Literacy team delivering presentations on money concepts in elementary, junior high, and high schools. The Youth Educator must be currently enrolled in post-secondary studies (preferably second year) and is responsible for delivering presentations to K-12 students on money management in fun, interactive and engaging ways. Training will be provided. Presentations may be delivered in person or virtual depending on the classroom requirements. Hours are flexible and we are willing to work around your academic schedule.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver 45 minute to 1.5-hour presentation to students in various schools across the city and
    surrounding areas/communities
  • Pick up presentation materials for in-person presentations from a Money Mentors’ office
  • Must provide own computer and have an Internet connection for virtual presentations
  • Assist in evaluating and suggesting improvements for future presentations
  • Administrative duties


  • The ideal candidate is a current second-year post-secondary student with daytime availability (8 AM – 4 PM)
  • Positive, outgoing, responsible, and self-motivated individual
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle required
  • Possess strong presentation skills and public speaking experience
  • Basic understanding of finances and money management, including budgeting
  • Previous experience working with youth in a leadership capacity is an asset
  • Must complete a Vulnerable Sector Check
