Talk to Your Kids About Money Day
Have you ever heard of the saying money doesn’t grow on trees? April 18 is Talk with Our Kids About Money Day, an opportunity for teachers, parents and loved ones to teach the younger generation about money. How to earn it, spend it, share it and planning for their future.
If you are a teacher and you are unsure of how to start the money conversation, or maybe you just want to reinforce money concepts already taught in the classroom contact Money Mentors at firstname.lastname@example.org to book free presentations for students Kindergarten to Grade 12. These age-appropriate and interactive presentations align with the Alberta curriculum of studies while teaching kids about money.
We also encourage parents, teachers and family members to continue the discussion at home and in the classroom by sharing money concepts and experiences with kids. Want to drive a money concept home? Or maybe you just need an activity to start the conversation? Money Mentors also offers free extension activities for each grade level. These extension activities are a great way to reinforce concepts taught in the classroom or to provide ideas for age appropriate money topics at home.
Readers can also visit our articles of interest resource page where we post articles on popular money topics for you and your kids. Examples include: Tips for Answering Children’s Money Questions and commonly asked questions and answers on Children’s Allowances.
